ACCT-LRE develops modern feedback control technologies and algorithms for throttleable liquid rocket engines.

The project applies system identification and dynamic modelling to close the control loop on a methalox engine, enabling more precise throttle response and extending the operable envelope of the engine.

DeltaOrbit leads the project as prime contractor, contributing the engine hardware, test rig, and propellant valves developed during the preceding MoToRIE project. deltaVision provides the embedded engine controller hardware and electronics. The Institute of Space Propulsion at TU Braunschweig (IRAS) covers heat transfer science and injector modelling. By the end of the project the consortium will have produced a functional, flight-representative engine controller demonstrated on a hot-firing test bench.
